Though Oklahoma born and bred, I relocated to Austin, TX, on a whim after high school and instantly fell for the quirky music city. While studying psychology and rhetoric at the University of Texas at Austin with the intention of becoming an FBI profiler, I landed the best gig for a young 20-something—writing bar, restaurant and live music reviews on someone else’s dime. Fast forward nearly two decades, and I’m still slinging words and obsessing over grammar issues, though nowadays in much more technical fields.
When I’m not writing or editing my life away, my brain stays busy birthing new business ideas, pre-writing young adult fiction and singlehandedly solving crimes mentioned on the evening news. I hop on a plane at every possible opportunity and buy books at every turn. And to this day, I still love a fabulous meal and a rowdy live band.
